About Us

Press Street Gardens is an urban farm and outdoor learning lab funded by the NOCCA Foundation, the nonprofit partner of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. We’re located on New Orleans’ historic Homer Plessy Way (formerly Press Street), where the Faubourg Marigny meets the Bywater.

We grow fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs, which are used by NOCCA’s Culinary Arts students in their classroom training. We also help NOCCA faculty incorporate the Gardens into their arts, science, humanities, and health education lessons.

For the public, we offer an exciting urban green space for workshops, meetings, and other activities. Through these events, we hope to educate participants about topics ranging from proper gardening techniques, nutrition, and personal well-being to wetlands restoration and environmental stewardship.
